Gertrude Bell, ( 1868 – 1926) was an English writer, traveller, political officer, administrator, spy and archaeologist who explored, mapped, and became highly influential to the British imperial policy-making because of her knowledge and contacts, gained through her extensive travels in Greater Syria, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, and Arabia.


Gertrude is a unique historical collectible miniature created from wood, wire, clay, and paint. She wears a dark brown houndstooth travel suit accented with a fur stole thrown on her shoulder. Gertrude also stands by her travel worn trunk tagged gold buckles and faux leather trim and travel stickers. Other finishing details are her hand painted face, one of her own travel books, real fiber hair, and a fancy hat to set off her costume!


Character is 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm).
