Elizabeth Barrett Browning, 1806 – 1861, was one of the most famous poets of the Victorian era. Her poetry was quite popular in both England and the United States during her lifetime. A collection of her last poems was published by her husband, Robert Browning, soon after her death.
I crafted Elizabeth in a dark brown dress with full skirt and cream ruffled collar and cuffs. A golden tan knit shawl and black brooch finish her ensemble. Her real fiber hair is hand styled, i hand painted the tiny details of her face, and she holds a copy of her poetry too.
Created out of wood, wire, clay, and paint- 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm)
