Edwin Hubble ( 1889 – 1953) was an American astronomer who played an important role in establishing the field of astronomy and is generally regarded as one of the most important observational cosmologists of the 20th century. Hubble is known for showing that the recessional velocity of a galaxy increases with its distance from the earth, implying the universe is expanding, known as "Hubble's law".
A must have for the astronomy science geek, miniature figurine Edwin is created from wood, wire, clay, paint, and fabric and stands a tiny 4 1/2 inches tall- (11.4 cm). Edwin wears a brown, tiny houndstooth print suit with blue shirt and satin tie. He also has real fiber hair and hand painted face, and for the final touch, a poster copy of "Hubble's Telescope" in hand.
