Mary Cassatt, 1844 – 1926,was an American painter and printmaker. She lived most of her adult life in France, where she first became a friend of Edgar Degas the painter and later exhibited among the Impressionists.Cassatt often painted images of the social and private lives of women, with particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers and children.
Mary Cassatt is hand created from wood, wire, clay, and paint and stands at 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm).
She wears a white artist smock with bow over a long black skirt, and she has a tiny brush in hand. Adde finishing details are her hand painted face, real fiber hair, real wood easel with painting, and she is permanently affixed to a wooden base that is 6" x 3" in size, (15 cm x 10 cm).
